PKU Maxamum neutral is a food for special medical purposes for the dietary management of phenylketonuria (PKU) in children 8 years and over and adults, including pregnant women. The product comes in a 500g tin where 1 levelled scoop provides 13.5g protein equivalent.
PKU Maxamum neutral is a phenylalanine-free powdered mixture of amino acids with carbohydrate, vitamins, minerals and trace elements.
PKU Maxamum orange contains sugars and sweetener.
Allergens: contains soy.

Only to be used by individuals with proven phenylketonuria (PKU) and hyperphenylalaninaemia (HPA).
Precautions: This product should not be used as a sole source of protein but must be given in conjunction with natural protein and other nutrients to supply the phenylalanine, fluid and general nutrition requirements of the patient in medically prescribed quantities.
Suggested intake: The recommended intake should be determined by a clinician or dietitian only, and is dependent on age, bodyweight, and medical condition of the patient. Additional water or diluted drinks must be consumed at the same time.
Recommended feed concentration:
It is recommended that the patient starts at a 1 to 7 dilution (e.g. 10g + 70ml water) and builds up to a 1 to 5 dilution as tolerance increases.
Paste the prescribed quantity of powder with a small amount of water before gradual dilution to final volume.
PKU Maxamum unflavoured may be flavoured with a separate flavour from the Nutricia range.
Stir before use. Best served chilled.
Unopened: Store in a cool, dry place.
Opended: Use within 4 weeks. Always replace container lid after use.
Prepared feed: Refrigerate and consume within 24 hrs.
