PKU GMPro Mix-In is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision. PKU GMPro Mix-In is an unflavoured, nutritionally incomplete, low phenylalanine*** powdered protein source containing glycomacropeptide (GMP), with essential and non-essential amino acids, a small amount of carbohydrate and some minerals.

***PKU GMPro Mix-In contains 18mg of phenylalanine per 12.5g sachet. This should be taken into consideration as part of the overall dietary intake. Protein substitutes based on GMP are a natural source of phenylalanine.

Important notice:
For enteral use only. Not for parenteral use. Must be used under medical supervision. Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition. Not suitable for children under 3 years of age. Use with caution in children aged 3 - 6 years.

Protein substitutes based on GMP are a natural source of phenylalanine.

Only to be used by individuals with proven phenylketonuria (PKU) and hyperphenylalaninaemia (HPA).

This product should not be used a sole source of protein but must be supplemented with a source of natural protein and other nutrients in medically prescribed quantities to supply the phenylalanine, fluid and general nutrition requirements of the patient.

The recommended dosage and timing of intake is dependent on the age, bodyweight and medical condition of the patient, and should be determined by a dietitian or clinician only.

A virtually tasteless and odourless source of protein ideal for people struggling to adhere to other protein substitutes or for those who have higher protein requirements such as during pregnancy or during intensive exercise. Easy to mix into other protein substitutes, foods low in protein, and low protein drinks.The quantity and dilution of this product can be adapted to the tolerance and preferences of the individual under supervision of a clinician or dietitian. Water and additional fluid should be offered or taken at the same time to ensure adequate fluid intake.

Recommended feed dilution:

12.5g of product made up with 180-240ml water or flavoured drink. The dilution is a guideline only.

  • 1 sachet = 12.5g powder
  • One portion (12.5g) provides 10g protein equivalent.

Best prepared with chilled water and consumed immediately after preparation.

This product may also be added to other prescribed protein substitutes for phenylketonuria or semi-solid foods. Do not heat, bake, or add to hot food or drinks (above 55°C).

Store in a cool, dry place.

Once sachet is opened, use immediately.
