PK Aid 4 is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision. It is a phenylalanine-free, unflavoured powder which is a blend of essential and non-essential amino acids. For the dietary management of phenylketonuria in children and adults. Suitable for use from birth.

Important notice:
For enteral use only. Not for parenteral use.
Must be used under medical supervision.
Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition.
Suitable from birth.
Only to be used by individuals with proven phenylketonuria (PKU) and hyperphenylalaninaemia (HPA).

Precautions: This product must be supplemented with natural protein and other nutrients in medically prescribed quantities to supply the phenylalanine and general nutrition requirements of the patient.

The recommended dosage and timing of intake is dependent on the age, bodyweight and medical condition of the patient, and should be determined by a dietitian or clinician only.

Recommended feed dilution:
1 to 20 ratio of powder to water (e.g. 1g powder + 20ml water) = 349 mOsmol/kg H2O

First make a paste with the prescribed quantity of powder by adding a small amount of water, before gradually diluting to the final volume. Use immediately after reconstitution.

This dilution is a guideline only. The product can be taken as a more concentrated drink or paste, but additional water or diluted drinks should be offered at the same time.

Store in a cool, dry place.

Once opened, use within 4 weeks. Always replace container lid after use.

Prepared feed: Refrigerate and consume within 24 hours
