MMA/PA Anamix infant is a food for special medical purposes for the dietary management of proven methylmalonic or propionic acidaemia (MMA/PA), in infants from birth to 12 months and as a supplementary feed up to 3 years. This product is in powder form available in 400g tin.
MMA/PA Anamix infant is an amino acid based methionine-, threonine- and valine-free and isoleucine-low powdered feed containing essential and non-essential amino acids, carbohydrate, fat, fibre, vitamins, minerals and trace elements.
Also contains the prebiotic fibre blend scGOS:lcFOS (9:1)1,2
Protein content: 13.1g PE / 100g. Allergens: contains milk.
Important notice: For enteral use only. Not for parenteral use. Must be used under medical supervision. Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition. For use in infants and as a supplementary feed in young children. Only to be used by patients with proven methylmalonic or propionic acidaemia.
Precautions: This product should not be used as a sole source of protein but must be given in conjunction with a protein source e.g. breast milk or proprietary infant formula to supply the methionine, threonine, valine, isoleucine, fluid and general nutritional requirements of the infant in quantities as prescribed by a clinician or dietitian.
Suggested intake: The quantity of feed and the dilution should be determined by a clinician or dietitian only, and is dependent on age, bodyweight and medical condition of the patient.
Recommended feed concentration:
The recommended feed concentration is 15% w/v (15g of product made up to a final volume of approximately 100ml with water). Osmolality at this concentration is 380 mOsmol/kg H2O.
Use immediately after reconstitution. Formula must not be rewarmed during feeding.
Unopened: Store in a cool, dry place.
Opened: Use within two weeks. Always replace container lid after use.
Prepared feed: Formula remaining in the bottle after one hour of feeding should be discarded.

Disclaimer
Breastfeeding is best for babies and a healthy diet/proper nutrition of the mother is important while breastfeeding. The decision not to breastfeed can be difficult to reverse. Infant formula is suitable from birth when babies are not breastfed. Follow-on milk is suitable for babies from six months, as a liquid part of a varied diet.
