Monogen is a food for special medical purposes for the dietary management of disorders requiring a low long chain triglyceride (LCT), high medium chain triglyceride (MCT) intake, such as long chain fatty acid oxidation defects (LCHADs), chylothorax and lymphangiectasia. Suitable as a sole source of nutrition for infants and as a supplementary feed for children over 1 year of age and adults.
Monogen is a nutritionally complete low fat, whole whey protein containing powdered feed low in long chain triglycerides (LCT) and high in medium chain triglycerides (MCT).

Suggested intake: The quantity of feed and the dilution should be determined by a clinician or dietitian only, and is dependent on age, bodyweight and medical condition of the patient.<
Recommended feed concentration:
The recommended feed concentration is 16.8% w/v (16.8g of product made up to a final volume of approximately 100ml with water). Osmolality at this concentration is 240 mOsmol/kg H2O.
Use immediately after reconstitution. Formula must not be rewarmed during feeding.
Unopened: Store in a cool, dry place.
Opened: Use within four weeks. Always replace container lid after use.
Prepared feed: Formula remaining in the bottle after one hour of feeding should be discarded.
