MMA/PA Anamix junior is a food for special medical purposes for the dietary management of proven methylmalonic or propionic acidaemia (MMA/PA), in children aged 1 to 10 years. The product is in powder form, and one sachet contains 18g (5g protein equivalent).
MMA/PA Anamix junior an methionine-, threonine- and valine-free and isoleucine-low powdered feed containing a balanced mixture of the other essential and non-essential amino acids, carbohydrates, fat (including docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)), vitamins, minerals, trace elements and fibre.
Allergens: contains soy.
Important notice: For enteral use only. Not for parenteral use. Must be used under medical supervision. Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition. Suitable for children from 1 to 10 years of age. Only intended for individuals with proven methylmalonic or propionic acidaemia.
Precautions: The product should not be used as a sole source of protein but must be given in conjunction with natural protein and other nutrients to supply the methionine, threonine, valine, isoleucine, fluid and general nutrition requirements of the patient in medically prescribed quantities.
Suggested intake: The quantity of feed and the dilution should be determined by a clinician or dietitian only, and is dependent on age, bodyweight and medical condition of the patient. Water or additional fluid should be offered or taken at the same time to ensure adequate fluid intake.
Recommended feed concentration:
18g of product made up to a final volume of approximately 63ml with water.
Can be made as a drink with 50-100ml of water or into a paste with 10ml of water.*
Shake or stir the product immediately before use. If given orally, best served chilled.
*Should be consumed with a glass of water.
Unopened: Store in a cool, dry place.
Opened tin: Use within two weeks. Always replace container lid after use.
Opened sachet: Use immediately after opening.
Prepared feed: Refrigerate and consume within 24 hrs.
