Coffee Buttercream Icing
This icing will take your chocolate cake or cupcakes to the next level for coffee and mocha lovers!
Makes28 servings (3 ½ cups)
- 1 ½ tsp instant coffee powder
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups (340 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 ½ cups (300 g) powdered sugar
In a small bowl, combine coffee powder and vanilla extract. Mix until the coffee powder has dissolved.
In a medium bowl, beat the butter with electric mixer until smooth.
Gradually - in small portions - add powdered sugar and continue mixing on low speed.
Add vanilla and coffee mixture and continue mixing until the frosting is smooth.
